Already a reputable supplier of forged metal components, Brooks Forgings Ltd is looking to develop and further establish its machining and fabrication services within the engineering and manufacturing community.
Thanks to continued investment Brooks Forgings has expanded through diversification, now offering over 20 different manufacturing processes and supplying metal components both locally and worldwide to many industries including Civil Engineering, Petrochemical, Power Generation, Defence and Transportation.
In 2013 the company expanded considerably by investing in a second 45,000 sq. ft. manufacturing site based in Lye, Stourbridge. Brooks Forgings now has 16 Hot Forging cells operational covering a diverse range of forging processes, fully supported by a machining and fabrication capacity including 16 CNC machining cells, 5 Robot Welding cells and 2 Flash Butt Welding machines.
Robot Welding
Robot Welding offers numerous advantages when compared to conventional welding methods, including faster welding cycle times, no breaks in production, less wasted material, and a cleaner consistent weld seam. Brooks have reviewed and implemented this process into many existing projects, improving lead times and overall quality.
Flash Butt Welding
Flash Butt Welding is commonly used where high strength is required, typically lifting links, rings and chains. The company is able to flash butt weld 6mm up to 52mm in either square or round material. The main advantages of Flash Butt welding is the speed and the overall strength of the process, there is no foreign weld material used meaning the product can be heat treated afterwards further increasing tensile strength.
