Case Study
We were approached by a company specialising in the manufacture of pressurised containment vessels. The development of a prototype system required the design and manufacture of a special type of ‘T headed’ swing bolt, used to secure the housing section of the assembly to the vessel.

The prototype application required the use of fewer bolts but still demanded the strength and safety factor of a conventional installation.

Super Duplex A182 F53 material was used to hot forge blanks to achieve an overall finished bolt length of 650mm. Machine finished with an M52 x 130mm thread and supplied with nuts to suit.

A complete Quality plan was provided ensuring full tractability for every stage of production and certification confirming that the bolts met the strength required for the final application.
